November 2, 201213 yr Whenever you update video card drivers, your display settings are changed. You have to reset your display settings. Also make sure AA/AF is enabled in FSX General settings. If you use the Nvidia Inspector, make sure those settings are set the way you want them. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! November 2, 201213 yr Author hey Jim, all settings are the same however no change in my graphics and the same still cant read the lettering on my fmc etc... any more ideas ?
November 2, 201213 yr Then it's possible your video card drivers were not installed properly. Uninstall and reinstall the video card drivers. The new drivers may not be compatible with your video card too. Not all video card updates are really necessary. You might restore the previous version and see if that fixes the problem. In the General tab of your FSX settings, make sure your video card is properly identified as well as the resolution. Make sure it is not set to 16 bit. It must be set at 32. November 2, 201213 yr I always run a few benchmark programs when FSX acts up to ensure it has nothing wrong with my computer setup. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
November 3, 201213 yr Author Steve, the card i have is a Nvidia gts 450, jim i tried all the settings and they were all the same as the=y were before i installed my drivers. i did however think it could have been the drivers not installed correctly so i did a reinstall earlier but had no joy, i was sure that the update was something my card could do with as on the nvidia site it searches for your gup. auto and tells you if you have the current drivers installed just trying get what i can from this card anyway i did a system restore as a last resort and well everything is back as it was, yet another day wasted lol thanks for all your help with this guys ill try leave this stuff alone as it only seems to get me into trouble and dosent do me any favours cheers again

November 4, 201213 yr Dont worry Craig, happened to me too recently, I updated from ATI Catalyst Control Centre 12.8 to 12.10 and it totally screwed up my FSX, so I removed it and re-installed 12.8 and everything went right back to how it was before the update :-) Your not alone with driver updates going wrong mate...
