FS9 crashing from time to time

Featured Replies

At some occassions it happens that FS9 crashes for me. It can be for just loading a flight or in the middle of the flight. The screen goes black. In best cases a message show up telling me that FS9 hasencountered a serious problem and needs to be shut down. In worstcase the mousepointer freezes and nothing happens, until I press theresetbutton on the computer. I have heard that Win XP can't crash like this since it never leave full control of the system to a program. Meaning that such cases must be because of unstable hardware.I use Athlon XP 2400+ 512 M DDR RAM GeForce4 MX 440 graphics cardand Audigo player. Win XP pro.Any suggestions?

same with me !

Do you ever get any Send/Don't Send Error report screens? If so, press the deep blue information area, then provide the failed module. Also always send the reports to Microsoft. They do look at them to improve the product, especially when it shows trends to a particular module.I would also recommend reinstall/updating your MOBO controller chip drivers, i.e., Intel, VIA, SiS, AMD, ALi, NForce since they control your CPU to AGP interface. Your graphics card is also a limiting factor in FS2004.Visit the tips and tricks subforum at the top of this forum for help in periodic computer maintenance. All computer operating systems will, on occasion, lock-up, even WinXP.W.
