February 1, 201313 yr I have both Windows 7 and 8 on my system. I used EasyBCD to link the Win 8 bootload (on an SSD) to the Win 7 HDD, but can also select which OS the system boots to through BIOS. If Windows 8 was without issues I would be happy just to use that, however I keep going back to Windows 7 to run FX. I obviously have 2 instances of FSX. Yesterday, when booting back into Windows 7, diskcheck started on the drive that has the Windows 8. I tried pressing a key to stop it but it kept counting down and running. Then, today, when I booted into Windows 8, the same happened again, only this time the Windows 7 OS disk was selected. I got to the PC too late to stop it. When in Windows 8 the Windows 7 HDD was inaccessible, and showed to be totally full. I tried booting back to it thinking it could be some security thing, but no go. I'm not sure what triggered the "disk-check dualing", but I would like to disable it somehow. It occurs prior to the Win 7 splash screen, or during the Win 8 splash. Thanks for any ideas. Bruce. February 2, 201313 yr Author Thanks Jim, much appreciated. I have re-installed Windows 7 on the drive previously affected, and note that diskchk wants to run when I boot to Windows 7, but not now when I boot to Win 8. having this information I can now prevent the Win 7 bootup from doing so. I am really liking Win 8, but boy, it took some time to figure out the new look.... now to get it to work with FSX is the next challenge! Thanks, Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
