February 8, 201313 yr hey folks, as the title suggests, i need help installing fsx on my secondary ssd (labeled as "F") When i run fsx installer and point it to "F" it tells me i cannot install it on a root directory. Any help would be great thanks Paul Westcott
February 8, 201313 yr I had the same problem on the computer I just built. Here's what I did to resolve. 1) The sata plug on my SSD was not pushed in all the way. Make sure all plugs are pushed all the way. 2) Then I had to go into disk manager and initialze and format the drive. Disk manager can be accessed by the start button, right click on computer, click manage computer, click disk management. Here you should be ale to assign the F: drive letter. 3) I then creatd a folder on the F: drive called FSX and installed FSX to F:\FSX. Why you don't get these instructions with the Intel SSD is beyond me. I had to figure this out by poking around. Ted. February 8, 201313 yr In order to install you will need to create a blank folder on the SSD. I name mine Filght Simulator X. The installer will then allow you to install. Its an FSX thing.
