February 15, 201313 yr Is there someone familiar with the WACO? What I would like to know is 1- starting up the engines where do i put the mixture half or full? 2- is there a way to increase to power of the engines like modify and increase the ceiling height of the aircraft so there is more oxigen to climb 3-is there is simple explonation availeble for the bendix which is present in the waco thanks in advanced paula
February 15, 201313 yr You are pointing out a vital flaw of many Alabeo aircraft. No manuals or at least reasonable extensive ones. Well, this being a simple plane when it comes to the systems, perhaps I can give some answers. 1- starting up the engines where do i put the mixture half or full She based on the default FSX engine model, so it shouldn't matter much. That said, above 3000ft may allow for a small reduction but she will start either way until you would attempt to start at very high altitudes. Then reduce the mixture. I think the real plane would need the fuel pump to run a few seconds before trying to start. So you can add that step, but, still, it will start either way. 2- is there a way to increase to power of the engines like modify You could turbo normalize her, so the MP won't drop with altitude or just at very high ones. When you are familiar with the aircraft.cfg, look into the [piston_engine] section. There's a parameter for adding a turbo and e.g. setting the critical altitude. Something like this. Backup the current file first! turbocharged= 1 max_design_mp= 30 min_design_mp= 0 critical_altitude= 10000 The value for the critical altitude will define when the normal MP drop sets in. I don't know, maybe even set it higher, to some 14000 or so. Bring your oxygen mask! ^_^ 3-is there is simple explonation availeble for the bendix which is present in the waco What do you want to do? Should work like a default FSX gauge. The transponder only has more buttons but not necessarily more features.
February 15, 201313 yr Author thank you, I will put it into the cfg file i know how it works and hopefully I got a little more power. yes alabeo doesnot react on support questions that will costs them business in the future. furthermore I thought when having a flightplan in fsx that I could see some info in the bendix. thanks for helping me out paula
February 15, 201313 yr I can't complain about their support. Well, if you mean the forum one, that's another matter, but the email stuff works. But the manuals.. would be nice to get some on the later planes. Just basic ones would fit. The longest manual is the one explaining the eula. ^_^ On your question with the flight plan details. You could add a default GPS gauge as popup. This would display the plan. Then you need a small NAV/GPS switch to toggle the CDI showing either a tuned VOR or the offset to the course the GPS delivers. Well, like on the default planes. All you need is that extra popup window and a switch placed somewhere. If you look into the default C172's panel.cfg, you'll find the switch and the GPS popup. If you combine those and add them to the Waco as Window03, you should be set.
February 15, 201313 yr Author ok first i changed the turbo and the MP on 40 and it runs like Singer knitting machine. I dont know if this plane is made that it will cause problems but I have at least some power I will take your suggestion and will try to do that paula
February 16, 201313 yr Author Hi Coolp, after a short fly in fsx dx10 I got a message( FSX dont work anymore) and I was out. could that be caused due to a higher MP of the WACO? or is it a coincident because i never had that before. furthermore the gps and toggle thats to difficult for me to do paula
February 16, 201313 yr I don't think the crash is related to the aircraft.cfg editing. It's not working on the internals like e.g. some tweaks in the fsx.cfg would do. Well, if the crash happens again, post some more details in this forum. http://forum.avsim.n...ktop-ctd-forum/ And you have the safe guard of the backup of course. Or did you reach ? furthermore the gps and toggle thats to difficult for me to do The GPS toggling would be same as on the default planes. Well, it was just an idea on how to get your flight plan showing up in that steam gauge cockpit. Can be a bit tiresome, you are right. You would have to adjust the CDI course and then fly the needle to show little or no offset. Well, for longer routes, this may still become an option when the VORs and NDBs don't deliver what you need. If you would need help on the editing of the panel.cfg, write again. We won't be able to place the GPS in the VC, so it always remains a popup window only. But the rest should work fine.
