August 29, 200421 yr With the Flight Planner I have no problem in selecting an active runway at an airport of my choice but am I able to place myself at a specific stand next to an airport building? Is so how?Cliff
August 29, 200421 yr If you look in the box in the bottom left hand corner you will see where to select it.See enclosed pictureXP Home SP2Asus P4P800-SE Intel 3.0GHZDDR 400 D/C 2x512MBGeForce FX 5700 256MB (56.72)SB AudigyMSFF2 & X45 throttleSee you in the fence...CYYZ Al Stiff
August 29, 200421 yr Thanks for responding so quickly. Especially early in the morning (which I asume it is in Canada). It's late afternoon here in Spain.Yup, I know about that option box but it only allows us to select either the active runway or another runway of our choice. What I'm trying to do is create a flight starting at an airport "stand" i.e. the point at which passengers arrive and depart.I'm assuming this is possible as ATC gives permission to leave the stand and offers taxi information to the runway they specify to the pilot.Regards,Cliff
August 29, 200421 yr That is strange. Most airports have a gate or parking option as well as the runways. What airport are you trying to depart from? Is it possible that they have no gate or parking area?XP Home SP2Asus P4P800-SE Intel 3.0GHZDDR 400 D/C 2x512MBGeForce FX 5700 256MB (56.72)SB AudigyMSFF2 & X45 throttleSee you in the fence...CYYZ Al Stiff
August 29, 200421 yr Did you scroll all the way down to the bottom of that box at lower left--gates/parking spots are listed below the runway list? Unless, of course, there are no gates/parking spots in that airport. In which case, get AFCAD221.zip (in AVSIM library), create a parking spot, then you can select it as a starting point. Full instructions for doing so in the AFCAD2 readme.HTHPaul
August 29, 200421 yr I DON'T believe it! I've been flying with Flight Simulator since it's inception all those years ago and I've never realised that by scrolling down I'd find anything other than runways. To say I'm embarrassed would be understating it by far.Thank you guys............it's simple when you know how, hmm?Cliff
August 30, 200421 yr Good you found all that.Now.........Click file, save flight, and fill the spaces out and you can start there at that airport anytime you want.As a side.....There is a "prevous flight" in the flights.I have made a "Default Prevous Flight" that I made to start at the last airport I landed at. You can taxi over to the refuel/ repair and load up and go again. At the next airport, Just save to this file " Default Prevous Flight" and you can go again. You have to save at each airport though.Joe W.
August 31, 200421 yr Author Hi,You don't need to save it each time - it will be automatic. Just select Previous Flight from the menu and you will get it.If you choose Previous Flight and check the "Make this the Default Flight" box, then when you restart FS you will be right where you left off automatically.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
