February 21, 201313 yr I am looking at upgrading from my current system, which is: MSI G31TM-P21 Motherboard Intel Pentium Dual Core E5300 Processor GlacialTech Igloo 5058 Socket775 95W CPU Cooler Corsair Value Select (2GB) 2048MB PC5400 DDR2 Desktop Memory Nvidia GeForce GTX 666 TI LG GH22NS40 22X SATA SecurDisc DVD RW Internal Drive Seagate ST9250410AS Momentus 7200.4 Hard Drive Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 Microsoft Basic USB Optical Mouse Cooler Master NV-334-KWN1-GP Elite 334 Nvidia Case Ultra LS500 Lifetime Series 500W Power Supply I found an AMD based computer on ebay its specs are: FX8150 AMD 8 Core 3.6GHZ Black Edition (Clockable) Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX650Ti 2GB Video Card Sabertooth 990FX R 2.0 Mainboard 120GB SSD Harddrive & 2 TB Seagate ST2000DM001 Hard drive LG DVD Super Multi Recorder 8GB KHX-1600C9D3K2 Kingston Memory OCZ 750W OCZ-ZT750W Power Supply Quality Black Cougar Volant Solution Gamers Case I would probably keep the graphics card, since it is the better of the two cards. Is the computer worth it, or should I keep on looking and try to find an intel based kit. Also how would the computer run fax. Would I be able to get fps in the 30's? Thank you for your replies, Snowingairlines Ryan L.
February 22, 201313 yr The system is most probably a better performer in FSX than your current system. But what is the price? And what´s your limit (would it be sounder to make a new build?) How old is the rig? Complete rigs being sold off are usually a bit outdated. "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
February 22, 201313 yr If you want to upgrade, don't purchase a prebuilt desktop. Buy the parts and build it yourself! it's significantly cheaper.
