Alternate airport to flight plan

Hi all, How do I add an alternate airport to the flight plan, Either when I am first entering plan, and also when I am airborne, I cant seem to find it written in the Manuals? Thanks in advance for any replies. edmundo

How do I add an alternate airport to the flight plan,

 

Change the DEST airport on the RTE page. Then set up your approach.

I believe RTE 2 can be used for the alternate route if you want to keep it separate from the main route (RTE 1).
