FS9 will not re-set normally after crashing PMDG NG

Featured Replies

I have already posted about this at the AVSIM PMDG forum and am also engaged in dialogue with PMDG directly, but since a solution is proving elusive, wish to post on the general MSFS forum as well, as follows:If I crash (i.e., physically crash the plane in the sim) the PMDG 737 NG, the situation does not re-set at all. In fact, the screen goes black for a minute or two and then FS9 crashes totally. I have the FS9 blue bar at the top of the screen during this delay and there is some flashing or ghosting of several PMDG panels such as the overhead or the main panel, but they are still all black and are literally just a flash on the screen during this non-reset period. At the suggestion of PMDG, I uninstalled and reinstalled the PMDG 737-600 NG today but it unfortunately made no diff. I still get the same thing happening: after a crash, no situation re-set, followed by a total FS9 crash.I have a factory standard DELL P4 PC, 2.53Ghz, 1024RDRAM, Ti4600 card, that performs beautifully for me in general. I have a vast fleet of add-ons in Fs9 and they all work normally. I've never had such an issue in my extensive FS career. After posting on AVSIM PMDG, I am starting to feel as if I am the only person in the world to experience this problem and so far, nobody has a solution other than turning off crash detection which I prefer not to do.Is there anybody else out there who has experienced this or anything like it? If so, have you managed to fix it? If no, do you have any idea what might be causing this?I appreciate any posts/responses, thanks!JS

Maybe it's a subliminal message - the plane is too expensive - keep the bird in the air :).Don't know about that one - I'll check it in a little while - and will post my results...
