How do I......

Hello, I originally posted this on the RFP forum, but no one over there seems to be in a charitable mood. My question is simple, but I could not find the answer in a search of 3 forums, so I'll try out my luck here.I just replaced my wheezing geforce 2 card with a gfx 5600. The results were encouraging enough that I want to re-enable the guages in the engineer's panel in RFP- they came dis-abled in the April 2003 patch in order to preserve frame rates. Originally, there was a text file that came with the patch, but I've since lost it. This file explained what to do in the panel.cfg to re-enable guages in the VC. As I understand it, this is the proceedure for all VCs, but I can't remember what to alter in the panel.cfg . I don't remember what to look for. Cheers!

bump!

I do not have this addon, but I would start by opening up the panel.cfg file with Notepad and look for gauge definitions that have either // or the ";" sign in front of them, turning them off.If you can find these gauges (in the virtual cockpit section, one would assume), you can remove the comment signs and re-save the panel.cfg file. To be safe, create a backup copy of the file first!

Thanks gentlemen. Upon closer examination, I was looking at the wrong lines in the VC section of the panel .cfg. I did find that those guages were disabled by placing an x in front of the guage. Cheers!

Michael,Why do you in all your above messages write guage(s) when you mean gauge(s)?. That is a spelling error I see many times, mostly by native English speakers. :-hmmmJozef http://pluizig.ath.cx/signature.jpg

hmmmm, most requests I've seen on the RFP forum get answered in minutes. Some drag out into a few hours, but not many...billg
