Paint Carenado 206 Tail logo reversed

Recommended Posts

So this is my first paint. I am using Carenados paint kit for the 206.

When I add the logo to the tail it is reversed on one side.

In the paint kit it shows both sides of the tail.

Welcome to the wonderful world of mirrored textures.

The best way to describe what's happening is to imagine the texture for the port side of the tail is being displayed on the inside of the surface and the surface is transparent.

Try copying the logo from the starboard side to the port side and flip it horizontally.

Joe

Thanks Joe,

That did not change anything. Oddly I have been researching this but can find no solutions. Surly not the first time this has happened.

Maybe i need to change something in the config?

OK, now that I am back at my FS machine I can look at the 206.

Let's see...

Oh yeah, now I remember, not good news.

The tail on carenado 206 fuse.bmp does not actually paint anything.

The tail on carenado 206 fuse3.bmp paints both sides of the tail and as such, you will never be able to have both sides of the plane have the correct logo, one will always be reversed.

Another Carenado masterpiece, good looking, fun to fly airplanes that are a royal pain to paint.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. Too bad, your paint looks really nice.

Note that the wheel versions are reversed in that carenado 206 fuse.bmp paints the tail and carenado 206 fuse3.bmp doesn't.

regards,

Joe

Thanks for taking the time time to look Joe!

Yeah that is too bad. The plane design is a real AC I designed the graphics for (my real job) and wanted to give the owner a treat by making him a nice video.

I have addons - Miami scenery and x44 (Miami Sea Plane Base)

This is my FSX:

you could always try and contact Carenado and see if they are willing to change the texture mapping, especially since the other half of the tail is present in the textures...

All my FSX/P3D repaints are here on Avsim, for my MSFS repaints, go to FS.2

Hi Jankees,

You and I need to chat :)

I am doing some repainting for the 91st. I see you are there also. I have completed my artwork and just need a bit of advice.

BTW I did contact Carenado - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/400861-paint-kit-for-206-tail-art-backwards/

Looking forward to hearing from you.
