March 4, 201313 yr I will get it, because to me, this hobby is a habit. I spend more money in this hobby than I do on most other things. I am restoring a 83 928s and for some reason I will buy something for FSX first. William Sequeira
March 4, 201313 yr Although Wales is very hilly and I'm sure will look stunning with the Orbx paintbrush, (assuming they keep away from the pastel palette) I have totally no reason to fly over it in the NGX which would be a waste i think. Orbx suits GA so when a smaller lighter plane takes my fancy maybe, just maybe ill give it another try. Maybe! I enjoyed staying in PNW for a looooooooooooong long time but since I fly the NGX a lot more, those FTX regions don't cut it anymore: I need more room! This is precisely the reason why they're developing FTX Global. Their regional sceneries are amazing value for GA pilots typically flying below the flight levels at <200kts. There's just so much to see and explore. I have only explored maybe half of PNW since I got it when it came out, and I've barely scratched the surface of what's in their other NA regions. When you're at 38,000 feet, having this much detail just isn't necessary. You're not going to swoop down to 1000 feet to check out some detailed river or town or land on a tiny dirt runway in the middle of nowhere... That's where FTX Global comes in, giving you the same pretty textures as in their regional sceneries, but without all the little details that hit your wallet and frame rate so hard. As for FTX England/Wales, I'm still undecided. I already have Horizon's VFR scenery, so switching to FTX would mean buying into a whole new ecosystem. I have heard rumors that FTX Scandinavia might come out in 2014 - partially based on the work done by Lennart. That's certainly something I will keep an eye out for. Sweden hasn't had decent countrywide coverage since Swedflight back in the FS98 days. -
