Forgive me if this topic is stupid, but I have searched this forum and found a few topics like this. But it seems to me that everybody is talking about different things. I will try to explain my issue.

I fly alot from Stockholm Arlanda - ESSA. ESSA has new STARS since the summer of 2012. Before that, traffic arriving from the south had TRS VOR as the final waypoint before the approach. STARS from the south started at TRS VOR. However, due to heavy traffic from the south the Swedish FAA decided to split traffic to Stockholm Arlanda ESSA and Stockholm Bromma ESSB. The change went through this past summer and since then traffic to ESSB is still using TRS VOR, but traffic to ESSA is using a new waypoint, located a few miles to the east: NILUG. Here comes my problem. NILUG does not exist in the FSX database.

As I understand, If I use FS Build or any other similar flight planner, I can update that with Navigraph to the current AIRAC. I can also update my NGX to the current AIRAC. In that case, I would get the new STARS that start from NILUG. But would I also get the new waypoint NILUG?

To summarise my question: Does Navigrap AIRAC updates include waypoints that are in between airports, or does it only include terminal waypoints? Maybe I have got this wrong and NILUG would be considered a terminal waypoint since it is the start fix of the STAR. In that case, I am happy. Is that the fact? And if it is, what happens if there is a new waypoint in between airports, that are definitly not part of a SID or STAR, just enroute. Would that be included in Navigraph updates?

I hope you guys understand my question. I would really like to invest in updated FMS Data, but I do want to know what I buy. And I would be dissapointed if I bought it just to discover that, in my case NILUG, is not there. Then I would sit with STARS starting with a wp that does not excist in my simworld.

Yes, waypoints are also updated (not just around the airport). Just as long as you keep your flightplanning software and the NGX updated with the latest AIRAC, you're good to go.

The only thing that does not get updated is the FSX database itself. So new VOR's and NDB's are also not added to the FSX database, but their waypoints are added in the AIRAC so you have it available in your flightplanning software and the NGX CDU.

Great! :)

I think FSX database can be updated as well. Check this website: http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html
