Autolanding?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I love this app and have always been an avid flight sim player since I was a child. Unfortunately I am only able to play this on my iPhone 4S so, landing is very very difficult.

Is there any consideration being given to having a autolanding option (as in the autopilot will land the plane?)

Also, when cruising in one of the airliners on the game at for example 32,000ft when the autopilot is engaged to maintain an altitude the plane for some reason starts bouncing uncontrolably. When this happens I have to disengage the autopilot and manually return to the desired flight. As soon as the AP is re-engaged the nose of the plane starts bouncing again. If left alone the plane will go into an uncontrolable spin and is not good for my passengers! HAHA!

I also experienced the aircraft veering violently off the runway on takeoff. I think the cause is as you have said, by pressing too hard on the nose to keep it down. This very rarely happens now since i have pushed the yoke forward much less.

Keep up the great work!

We don't plan on implementing this anytime soon. The reason behind this is the difficulty to implement. If we do try this, then it might only be for select airplanes first.

That said, some days, I wake up with a crazy idea and start implementing things I didn't want to work on the day before, so who knows :)

That's a know issue. What airplanes are you seeing this with? A small work around would be to keep the preset VS as low as possible, especially at high altitude. Also, when turning on the ALT mode by pressing the A/P button, try to have a VS that's as close to 0 as possible, otherwise the plane will try to correct it too fast and might stall.

Autopilots are tricky things to configure :)

This happens when you are rotating too fast and landing with too much airspeed. Try to take off earlier, and land a little slowly. When landing, make sure you also land on the main wheels first. (back)

Thanks for the thorough reply.

Not really being an aviator i dont think i asked the autolanding question correctly. I think what I mean is will there be a more detailed ILS system added? Where the runways will require a frequency to be inputted into the flight computer? Approach hold and that kind of thing?

Thanks very much once again! p.s. a C130 Herc would be most appreciated!!

I too would LOVE a C130 Hercules, and ILS would be awesome, but a quick work around Im thinking of is to fly into the large 'cone' that spreads away from either end of the runway, turn to face the runway then set autopilot bearing to the airport, just control altitude...
