Save game
Thanks, we're thinking of adding this. In fact, we had this back when we first shipped on Windows Phone but had to remove the feature later on. It's something I badly want as well

Vref and stall speed for final approach
Hi, We're aware that the pitch attitude on most planes is slightly off in some situations. We've actually fixed this problem in our upcoming update on the most recent planes (767, 757, 777 and the reworked 737). The 737 will have our most accurate flight model yet, it should be within close range of the actual numbers for N1, Speed and Pitch based on the weight. The main issue with this is finding the data points do base the model from. We've found a good site about the 737 and that helped us a lot with the tuning. As to the virtual cockpit instruments, we're working on the internals to support this in a future update. You are correct that running on a tablet is a challenge but we'll get this working, especially because I want that to work as well I'm not sure what you mean with your last question. Matt

Active Development?
Hi, Yes, it's still very much in development, but only on Android and iOS platforms. Windows Phone has been discontinued for the time being. We'll be back on that platform soon. You can find out about what's coming next on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/infiniteflightapp Matt

A few questions
Hi, 1: we will have this feature soon. Our next update will have a better attitude indicator but no numbering yet due to issues with rendering rotated fonts. 2: I think it's based on the real world data, so it should match what you have on your approach plate. 3: right now, the distance is based on where the waypoint is. For airports now, we have the location based on the first runway we have in our list. We will change this to the center of the airport in future updates. I doubt that it should make a significant difference in your calculations though, especially for small airports. 4: some airplanes are more advanced than others, the 717, 777, 380 are generally pretty close to the real things. The planes that have been overhauled and have full animations and HD textures are better. The 737 is one of our oldest models, that could explain the issues you are having. We are in the process of re working that airplane and it will be much better once we're done 5: The A380 and 777's are my personal favorites Matt

New to IF: I'm in Love!
Thanks for the feedback! For the waypoints, we can't do much at this point, we rely on real world data. We plan on enabling User Waypoints so you can add your own defined plots on the map. Thanks for your support -- Matt

Question on new update
I think what you're seeing is one of the attitude indicator bars that's drawn underneath the ILS "gauge". Matt

infinite flight for pc
We already have a PC version for our internal use only. We have no plans to release at this time. We'd like the terrain to get a bit better so we don't get compared (too much) to FSX or X-Plane. Cheers, Matt

Runway lighting?
We might add the option to control lighting manually, but in real life, you can't really control the lighting, except for fields with PCL. Matt

A moment of your time if I may, regarding In-App Purchases
Hello, Thanks for your message 1: We have no plans to release features as IAP at this point (buildings, new textures, etc...) Only content is paid. When the new buildings, textures, etc... are available, we will update the paid content at no cost. This might change if we find that this business model isn't sustainable in the long run, especially since some of our users really frown upon paid content... (Not sure how they expect us to live...) 2: I guess you could only fly from the regions you have purchased. We don't know yet how this will work. 3: We're still experimenting... We don't have enough experience in this field to plan ahead. It's basically trial and error at this point. 4: You would get some free content every once in a while and new features that are part of the simulation itself. Most difficult thing: Not sure... it's a mix of finding the right pricing (we're nerds, we don't wear suits to work so it's hard for us and technical stuff (optimizing things to run on the slowest devices). You are right though, IAP's are what we use to keep the business afloat. We're getting a lot of heat because of those, but hopefully, in time, people will understand that it's the only way for Infinite Flight not to become another dead flight sim... We've all lived through the life and death of too many sims we cared about... (MSFS, Flight Unlimited, Fly!, Pro Pilot...) One thing that is different about us is that there are no talking heads (publishers, producers...) deciding things for us. We are in direct contact with our users and try to steer the development in the direction people want. Thanks for your interest and don't forget to rate Infinite Flight in the app store Matt

Autolanding?
We don't plan on implementing this anytime soon. The reason behind this is the difficulty to implement. If we do try this, then it might only be for select airplanes first. That said, some days, I wake up with a crazy idea and start implementing things I didn't want to work on the day before, so who knows That's a know issue. What airplanes are you seeing this with? A small work around would be to keep the preset VS as low as possible, especially at high altitude. Also, when turning on the ALT mode by pressing the A/P button, try to have a VS that's as close to 0 as possible, otherwise the plane will try to correct it too fast and might stall. Autopilots are tricky things to configure This happens when you are rotating too fast and landing with too much airspeed. Try to take off earlier, and land a little slowly. When landing, make sure you also land on the main wheels first. (back) Matt

Restore purchases.
Hi Guys, Sorry for the late reply, I was having issues connecting to the forums since they changes the twitter/facebook login stuff for avsim last month. To restore purchases, you should simply click on the Restore Purchases button in the Aircraft or Regions Page. If the page says "IAP not available", try to restart the app, or the device itself. Sometime the IAP system gets stuck and can't connect. Make sure also that you are logged in with the same iTunes account that you used when you purchased the planes/regions. Let me know if this helps. Matt

A big thanks and a handful on ideas
Sorry for the messy reply... Avsim forums limit the amount of quotes you can do in a message... Odd limitation. Thanks! Glad you like Infinite Flight We have no plans to change course at all, we're here to stay >> 1. Change, or let us change the color of the HUD. I think this one is important, there are many times where the background contrast is just too bright as opposed to the HUD color. This prevents from crucial information on the HUD from being seen. We've made things better in our upcoming update, the texts now have a shadow behind, and the altimeter and airspeed indicator have a background color that varies with the current visibility. The heading indicator also has a background and we've changed the ILS line colors. >> 2. Have the option to have the ATC chatter play in external view. Interesting suggestion. >> 3. A light switch toggle, yes the screen is already nicely packed with push buttons, and we don't have unlimited screen real-estate in mobile devices, although, maybe a "misc" button to expand into things such as lights, spoiler arm, etc. Maybe putting camera controls into one expanding button, and clearing up the rest of the screen for more aircraft functions might be a option too. We're working on prototypes for new UI. The difficulty is in managing all the different displays and resolutions. >> 4. A live ATC.net stream for the current region you're in. (Not per each airport, as that would require to much stream switching...I think) We've talked with LiveATC, they don't want us to stream directly from them. They are fine if we host recordings on our site and stream from there but this will cost us some bandwidth. >> 5. A stop button-It would be great to have the whole simulation stop while still being able to manipulate the aircraft controls and take some screenshots. Think of a slew mode, just without the slew functions. Great idea. >> 6. The ability to add custom waypoints on the map by tapping. Let's say I want to set up a nice tour of Wisconsin, it would be great to be able to add custom waypoints, instead of having to rely on the airports in the area. I'm going to work on the flight planning, navigation page soon. I don't like it as it is now. It's been this way for almost 2 years now. Adding custom waypoints will definitely be something I'll look into. >> Us flight simmers sure are a odd bunch, we love complexity, but we love complexity rolled into simplicity even more. We're also one of you guys ;-) Heavy FS user since FS4 and also enjoyed a lot Flight Unlimited 2&3. >> 1. Weather themes! No, I'm not talking about precipitation or clouds, but that would be fantastic too! For example, on the weather screen, I would get pre-set slider selections. If I selected "Foggy and windy" it would adjust the sliders accordingly. Great idea! >> I would love, at least the illusion, of a flight from point A to point B. This is somewhat in place as I can fly and land at many airports within 100nm or so. How much I would love to be able to take my 767 up to cruise altitude while en-route to a airport. This is a medium term goal, we want to be able to simulate the entire earth. Regions are a limitation of the current system, we'll change it. >> A "void" zone if you will. I understand the sim can render only a certain amount of terrain at a time, so for example, you exit KOSH to the west at FL390 .. We'd love to have that, but we'd rather find a way to render things in the middle instead of teleporting. Half the fun for me is in letting the plane on AP in NAV mode and coming back an hour later for the approach We think having some sort of generated terrain in the void areas would be feasible but we need to update our terrain system before this can be done. Thanks again for the great feedback, make sure you visit our feedback page though, there are probably a few of those that have been suggested already. http://feedback.flyingdevstudio.com Regards, Matt

Crosswind Landings
Exactly, thanks for your answer We need to tweak the effect of the wind though, it seems a bit strong for the current values...

Landing and takeoff problem
Thanks, I'd love to see a video of this, is there anyway you can send me a video of this effect? We've had a few people email us about similar problems but could never find someone who could show us what happens on video :-/ That makes it hard for us to fix the problem -- Matt

Take-off and landing speeds
Thanks for the numbers. This should be close to what you can use in Infinite Flight. We're working on the weight and balance system so you can tweak the total weight of the planes. Just FYI, these speeds are not part of the flight model, not more than they are in real life. We set the weights, wings specifications and see how the plane flies, kind of like what happens in real ife. We don't set a "stall at 125kts with flaps 25 degrees" Matt

Landing and takeoff problem
Hello, - What airspeed is the A340 going at when this happens? - Are there any winds set in the Weather Page? Most of the time, letting the airplane roll down the runway, will result in a slight drift, even without wind, because the accelerometer will give us some very small values. Note that in real life, you can't let an airplane go down the runway without touching the rudder pedals to keep the airplane on the centerline. Matt

Ideas
Thanks for the great feedback. I'd suggest going to our user voice site to vote on these suggestions: http:feedback.flyingdevstudio.com. The 737 model will definitely be updated soon. We're working on the A380 update now. Make sure you check our facebook page for the latest updates: https://www.facebook.com/infiniteflightapp For the live ATC, do you mean having aircraft fly around you? or just the real feed from LiveATC.net when you're in range of an airport? -- Matt

Autopilot.
Hello, The Autopilot doesn't have a NAV mode yet, it can only work to follow a flight plan if you manually adjust the HDG setting. Regards, -- Matt

Infinite Flight in The iOS Settings App
That shouldn't be in there, it's debug stuff that was left by mistake. We'll remove it for next update. Thanks for letting us know Matt

Android version
We've started working on it but we have nothing to announce/show at this point. Rest assured we'll bring it to Android eventually. As an Android user myself, I'd love to be able to play on my Galaxy Nexus -- Matt

Take-off and landing speeds
Correct, we have no fuel consumption at this time. (It is supported but disables, the fuel tanks always return 100%). The issue with V speeds is that they vary with a lot of factors. It would be hard for us to compute those in real time. Our planes are typically loaded to 50% of the range from Empty Weight and Max Gross Weight. So if you have access to a chart, you can use those numbers to figure out the V-Speeds Matt

iPhone/iPad
Hi, Infinite Flight is a Universal app, meaning it works on all the devices you own. There is no HD version to buy. When you install it on another device, to recover your purchased airplanes, simply go in the settings page and click on "Restore Purchases". Regards, Matt
