  1. Matt and team, Great job and most of all, thank you for the updates and the long nights they surly took, this simulation is headed in a fantastic direction. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to speak in the direction in which Flying Development Studio is headed in regards to In-App Purchases. Updates to the base game engine will no doubt be given free to the players who have purchased Infinite Flight, although I still have some lingering questions. 1. Do you plan on releasing ANY graphical updates as a IAP? For example, I have seen the impressive screenshots of the very early terrain populated with buildings. Would it be possible that these are, if ever completed, released as a IAP as a kind of "extreme" region? This is something I hope FDS strays away from. 2. With the introduction of paid regions, how would this work for the medium term goal of having a fully "from point A to point B" world? 3. IAPs in a simulation such as this is somewhat new ground. Is the current formula, good or bad, something your studio plans to stick with for the future or are you still tweaking the best way to go about IAPs? Regarding Usage, content delivered, etc. 3.( B) I guess this would go with question 3, with flight simulation being a world of thousands of airports with thousands of aircraft and many flying styles, and with FDS taking the helm and paving the way for IAPs in mobile flight simulation, do you see your studio making any major innovations or overhauls to how IAPs will be presented and used in the future? 4. If I were to never use a IAP, what would I, as a "free user" expect in the future? Two little off-topic questions. In terms of where IF started, and where it is now, are you happy with the outcome and the current development process? What has turned out to be the most difficult thing for the team in the development process? Thank you for your time. I, as I hope most people do, understand that IAPs are what's going to keep the business alive. Although, a little more insight from behind the scenes has never hurt anything. Thank you Steve
  2. Great job on this simulator. Thank you for your continued support and most importantly, keeping a open ear to the community. I urge you guys to stay the current course. This could very well be "The one" us flight simmers are looking for on a mobile device. Avsim is my main flight-sim community portal, I do not use Facebook and as such, have not seen the ideas of other users so I apologies ahead of time if these ideas are repeats. As much as I would love to have "Fsx-in-a-box", it's just not possible with the hardware limitations of mobile devices, this does not mean we can't get it as close as possible to actual flight simulation though. my "Simple" ideas: ( I have zero experience in IOS coding, so simple is going to be a subjective term here.) 1. Change, or let us change the color of the HUD. I think this one is important, there are many times where the background contrast is just too bright as opposed to the HUD color. This prevents from crucial information on the HUD from being seen. 2. Have the option to have the ATC chatter play in external view. 3. A light switch toggle, yes the screen is already nicely packed with push buttons, and we don't have unlimited screen real-estate in mobile devices, although, maybe a "misc" button to expand into things such as lights, spoiler arm, etc. Maybe putting camera controls into one expanding button, and clearing up the rest of the screen for more aircraft functions might be a option too. 4. A live ATC.net stream for the current region you're in. (Not per each airport, as that would require to much stream switching...I think) 5. A stop button-It would be great to have the whole simulation stop while still being able to manipulate the aircraft controls and take some screenshots. Think of a slew mode, just without the slew functions. 6. The ability to add custom waypoints on the map by tapping. Let's say I want to set up a nice tour of Wisconsin, it would be great to be able to add custom waypoints, instead of having to rely on the airports in the area. Other Ideas: Us flight simmers sure are a odd bunch, we love complexity, but we love complexity rolled into simplicity even more. With that said, it's been proven we can now have a base foundation for a flight simulator on mobile devices, I strongly feel what's going to make or break simulations of this type is moving away from the "Push the throttle forward and go" model. How is that done? Well, that's up to you guys, but I would love to offer some suggestions. 1. Weather themes! No, I'm not talking about precipitation or clouds, but that would be fantastic too! For example, on the weather screen, I would get pre-set slider selections. If I selected "Foggy and windy" it would adjust the sliders accordingly. The big idea: I would love, at least the illusion, of a flight from point A to point B. This is somewhat in place as I can fly and land at many airports within 100nm or so. How much I would love to be able to take my 767 up to cruise altitude while en-route to a airport. I have no idea how that would happen, but I do have some suggestions. A "void" zone if you will. I understand the sim can render only a certain amount of terrain at a time, so for example, you exit KOSH to the west at FL390 When reaching the end of this region, instead of the simulation putting your throttle back to zero you are "teleported" into a new region. the "Cruise region". This is only modeled from lets say FL250-FL490. At that point, you can open your map and see the connecting "exit" paths you can take, if I continue west, I would come out in the KSFO region. To me, this would add a HUGE new element to my flight, I would be able to Take off, climb, cruise, descend, approach, and land. That A380 would have a reason to come out of the hanger and I would even have the option of doing a little pseudo planning!
  3. unfortunately Ro, I can't argue with that. Not having Health Insurance myself, I would not complain one bit. My voice on the subject though, is one in a billion. I do hope with time, that we start seeing a change in our healthcare for the better. Not everyone deserves a Ferrari, but EVERYONE deserves a chance to live, fight for there life, conquer a disease, with there strength, not there wallet. All in all, does it suck? Yes. Could it be worse? Yes. I'm glad we at least have places we can go for minimal treatment. As we all know, some people in some places do not even have that. Regards, Steven
  4. At a cost that is no where near worth it. It's not like those lower taxes give you more money to spend, guess what you'll be spending it on? Yep, medical bills. I doubt any american would give you an objection if you wanted to bring up tax to provide the correct health care system.
  5. I would say they are a must, definitely. Set up the sliders as you would like after following the guide if you dont get the performance you want, but his FS9.cfg and Nvidia Inspector tweaks, I do consider a must, yes. 1. Follow the post 2. Adjust sliders if need be 3. Keep fs9.cfg tweaks and Nvida inspector tweaks.
  6. Well if you can't pay, they were turn you over to a collection agency. It's there job to hunt you down and bother you like there is no tomorrow. They will ruin your credit, call all times, day and night. Sometimes they will call your employer. Sometimes your friends, etc. A bill is a bill, with a worst case scenario, they have the right to garnish your wages from your paycheck. (no small amount) Oh and they sue you. If i'm walking down the street and someone beats me up to the point where I need urgent medical care, I could end up in a court room for that years later, being sued for the price of care and continued care resulting from that incident. It's scary Regards, Steve
  7. After doing some research for you, it seems as though the registration information posted above is used almost exclusively in Pirated/Stolen versions of Fsuipc. This would be your problem, I would go ahead remove the above screenshot, and send a email to Pete Dowson. He is on holiday until the 5th of november if I recall correctly, but a quick stop by the support forums could help you also. If the FSUIPC black-listed registration details you posted above were made in error, and i'm going to assume they were, throw Pete a email and he will be more than happy to find your correct registration details. Good luck, hope this helps, Steve FSUIPC page: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html Support Forum: http://forums.simfli...wforum.php?f=54 Ps. Assuming you get the above details worked out, I would suggest removing that whole version of FSUIPC, including the .ini and .key. Reinstall the free version (or the correct copy of your paid version) and that should solve it.
  8. Please do check out Nick N's tweaks, they are a must! http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb25/YaBB.pl?num=1211055375/0#7 These are the tweaks that provide me the most performance along with the best looking FS9 I have ever ran. Hope this helps, Steve
  9. Hello, great video! I don't mean to be off-topic, but what model is that A380?
  10. Hello folks, I took a few hours today and went flying for some basic navigational and general aviation training. Our flight took us from Portland to Hillsboro. Weather was a slight concern as we had low clouds, and a very slight fog layer reported on the way to Hillsboro. Enjoy Looking across the river on the way to Hillsboro Over the river now, after our turn we will have a very long extended base leg into hillsboro Turning Final, as feared the vis has taken a turn for the worse, the runway lights can be seen, and the choice to continue the approach is made Final now, after a little correcting the approach looked great. I hope you enjoy the shots Regards, steven
  11. Hi Bagno, Go ahead and call missed on your next flight, make sure your gear is up (if applicable) ensure you have a positive rate of climb, and see if radar contact gives you instructions. If you call missed, RC will wait to see gear up/positive rate of climb before issuing any instructions. If your problem persists I urge you to send a email to help@jdtllc.com, Mr.Dekker and his team will be able to solve your problem for you, they provide top notch support! Edit: A little bit off-topic but, if your using Radar Contact, and you have not yet checked out meatwaters voices (Version 2) in the Avsim File Library. It's a must-have for users of Radar Contact Regards, Steve
  12. Hi Bagno, I've had this happen before with just RCV4 running. I've never been able to isolate the problem, it happened one time and has not happened again since. May I ask, is this a recurring problem? Have you tried to recreate it? Also, what was the arrival and destination airport? This could very well have been a rare "hiccup" with Radar Contact. Regards, Steve
  13. The documentary looks extremely interesting. I really wish I could find a working link. :( Oh well, I'll keep looking. Maybe there is a way to order it on DVD.
  14. great shots, you really feel the cold atmosphere!
