March 5, 201313 yr As the topic suggests, I've noticed when doing a flight with the NG and using WAI when I'm back on the ground at my destination the WAI L and R Valve lights are illuminated although WAI has been switched to the OFF position? I have tried switching WAI back to ON and then back to OFF again but the lights won't extinguish. I'm using FS2Crew Voice Edition if that is of importance.
March 5, 201313 yr Have you close them before you shut down the engines? *I think* They're pneumatically operated, and if you don't close them before you lose pressure, they might stay open. fosl is correct: The Wing Anti-Ice Control Valves are AC motor-operated. Matt Cee
March 5, 201313 yr Author Ah, guess it's my FS2Crew FO to blame then that he doesn't switch the WAI OFF before the engines are shut down. Even after all time in the NGX since it was released it's amazing how you still can get surprised in a positive way how realistic everything is !! Thanks for the help!
March 5, 201313 yr Wing anti-ice is not modeled correctly in the ngx. Wing anti-ice valves on the real 737 are ac motor operated. So unlike engine a/i that requires air pressure to open, w/i valves will open even with no bleed source available.
