Joystick button mappings for Elevator Trim not working

Featured Replies

Hello,

I just switched my joystick out to a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and I assigned Button 04 to Elevator trim (down) and Button 06 to Elevator trim (up) ... I assumed this action would cause the Trim Wheel to turn when the buttons are pushed (Repeat is slid all the way to the right for both buttons) ... but the elevator settings do no change in the PMDG. Also, for a further bit of troubleshooting, I loaded the Microsoft Baron 58 and the Orbit Regional Jet and the elevator controls work correctly with my joystick buttons in both of those planes.

Is there a trick to getting this to work in the PMDG 737NGX?

Thanks,

Charles T. Blankenship

I have my yoke controlled directly by FSX - button assigned in fsx, and it controls trim.

Restarting the sim after changing your control mapping might help.

Thanks Luke:

I just hurried back to the forum to delete this post before anyone replied  . The problem was I was trying to move the elevator trim without having power supplied to the plane. The flaps work just fine on the throttle panel without power ... I just made the assumption that the same would apply to the trim wheel ... but that is not the case. Thanks for the quick help.

Well we both learnt something here today Charles :)

Have fun.

Regards
