If I've bought add on mesh (FSGenesis) and am using add on scenery (Spain free photoscenery). Do I need to do anything to either of them to make sure that the add on photoscenery is using the add on (higher resolution) mesh?

No, just install them both, add to scenery library if necessary and that's it.
