Laptop specs

Will these specs run FSX relatively smoothly:

Intel Core i3-3110M 2.4 GHz (6 MB Cache)

6 GB DDR3

750 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive

17.3-Inch Screen, Intel HD Graphics 4000

Windows 8, 3.45-hour battery life

Cheers

With an i3, I doubt it. I can't really get good performance with FSX, and I'm using an i5 along with 8 gigabytes of RAM. Although I don't know the difference between the Intel HD Graphics 3000 and 4000, as I have the 3000. I gave up with FSX and stuck with FS9.

The I3 is fine. It's the IGP that's nowhere near powerful enough for gaming

Why don't you load it it and give it a go, you might be suprised? There are benchmarks showing a 55% increase in performance in some tests between HD 3000 and HD 4000.

From his post, can't really tell if he has said system or not. If he doesn't have it, that might be a little hard to do.

Very true, in which case I'd agree with you that it's probably not a viable option. Shame we're left to make assumptions.
