Opinion on strange clouds please

Hi guys, I have just completed a flight from Zurich into Gatwick and during descent the darkness of dusk was replaced with a much lighter sky, which looked extremely unrealistic. Any ideas fellas? Cheers

No idea really, I was expecting to see you entering an overcast with your landing lights lighting up the view but this is different. Looks like an FSX anomaly. The LWE certainly does not control any lighting effects or control anything in real time. Just specifies the weather and leaves FSX to render it. Looks like you have a cloud layer just below you which FSX has rendered, did you then enter into an overcast? Is that cloud below you an overcast cloud layer that is quite close? It does look like FSX just rendering the sky as seen in a cloud or low vis layer.

Looking again, it seems to be two cloud layers, one above and one possibly overcast below you. FSX has most likely killed the nice colourful sky seeing as its obscured by the cloud and a possible poorer vis layer, replacing the colourful sky with the grey cloud, or grey silhouette of the cloud layer. FSX also gives some interesting effects when descending into an overcast with your landing lights on. Anyway that's my guess.

Pretty rubbish weather here in Europe at the moment, I even had snow in Biarritz today.

Thanks for the speedy response Stephen. Sure, landing lights were on and yes, there was a overcast layer just below. There was also snow when I descended further...
