Uploading custom made scenery

Featured Replies

Hey guys I notice there was no airport for Greenville Municipal Airport 4G1in fs2004 So I decided to make my own using Easy scenery library objects and Woody's scenery objects as well. My question is will it be okay for me to upload it to a visit him for others to download or would I need permission? I have also use Airport exfoliator to edit the taxi ways add taxi ways as well to the better match the real thing

As long as you give credit for the scenery libraries and utilities you've used, and ensure you're not including anything payware - Sounds OK to me.

It's always good practice to attempt to notify the creators that you intend to use their work in a public release. They may have covered this issue in any readme files within their libraries, so have a look for those notes.

Also, as mentioned already, always credit those who created the objects you used in your work.

Do not judge people until you've walked a mile in their shoes. Then at least you are a mile ahead of them when you ###### them off...

Hi.

Alternatively, don't include the object libraries themselves in your upload. Just add a few lines to the readme explaining where they can be found. The .bgl files you created for the airport don't contain the models, they just tell FS which ones it should use. (Put in something like... 'You will also need to download the Lens_hangers object library from Avsim. Search for Lens-EZ-hangers.zip').

(Duplicate objects and textures from lots of freeware downloads fill a hard drive very quickly.)

Don't you love spell checkers and predictive text?

Best regards,

D

Thanks guys I apreciate all of the advice given here, it's my first time actually doing scenery and certainly dint want to do anything wrong
