March 17, 201313 yr Hi, I already posted this in Hifi's legacy product forum but no answer yet after three days so tought of asking here too, here it goes: "Hello, Looking thru my back up files, I found Xpax and decided to re-install it, when I tried to start the program, it gives me an error, the dialog box title is "Microsoft NET Framework" and it "unhandled exception has occured with you application etc" , with a detail, continue or quit button. The program still does not start even if I press continue, the message comes back until I press quit. I did tried to re-install NET Framework but it says it is already on the system ?Any work around ? By the way, I use fsx on W7 64bits, DEP is disabled, no antivirus. Thanks in advanceAlain from Montreal"

March 17, 201313 yr It most likely means your simconnect is not installed properly. I have the latest update to XPax and my XPAX_Engine.exe program is version 1.0.0.20. Your version is 1.0.0.23 which is higher than mine. That is strange. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! March 18, 201313 yr Author I applied the latest update, thinking it could help, maybe it is why our version # is different; I reinstalled simconnect but same result... Thanks guys.. Alain from Montreal Ps I tried to submit a ticket to Hifi but after completing form and writing security code correctly, the form reset without accepting it....
March 18, 201313 yr I applied the latest update, thinking it could help, maybe it is why our version # is different; I reinstalled simconnect but same result... Make sure your Microsoft Visuals are up-to-date. Here's a link to the latest versions of MSV 2005, 2008, and 2010 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347 , http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26368 , and http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999. Uninstall the program and run a freeware registry cleaner then reinstall. I do not have the C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/Microsoft.VisualBasic/8.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll installed on my system. This is a Microsoft.net component. I do have the version you have installed but just not in that folder. Make sure you have Microsoft.net versions 1.1 through 4.5 installed on your system. You can check to see what versions are installed by going to C:\Windows\Microsoft.net\Framework (x86)\then the versions. To verify they are installed properly, use the following verification tool - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx. March 18, 201313 yr Author Thanks Jim for your suggestions, unfortunately, it did not work.. submit a ticket to HIFI, hopefully they have seen that error before and know how to fix it ? will report back in a few days... Thanks Alain from Montreal
March 19, 201313 yr Thanks Alain. Please do report back if you find a fix. The HiFi people are great to work with (at least that has been with my sessions with them) and they respond very fast. I did Google your error and found information that led me to make my recommendations above. If they had seen the error before it should have shown up in Google. Good luck!
