Random Failures?

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

I've been searching these forums as well as the manuals, but have not quite found the answer:

I've set the failures like this:

Random Failures=yes

-Events pr 10 hours=3

-Limitied Events=yes

-Event Limit=1

Service Based Failures=yes

I've set this up on the 73G SAS livery, and I've flown that aircraft well over 10 hours, but have not experienced any failure yet? I'm using Emergency NGX as well - what am I doing wrong?

It'll happen.

I started by setting 1 event per 10 and service (along with service based) and went waaaaay past 10 hours of flying before I got my first failure. It really is random and even if the odds say it should happen within a period, doesn't mean it will.

Oh and often the failure will be so minor or obscure you wont even normally notice it without checking the the CDU for active failures.

For example I have had bleed air valve stay open on engine one, without switching off the bleed air switch (which normally I never need to do) and watching bleed pressure with the engine running you wouldn't pick it up.
