March 21, 201313 yr Hey, I am trying to increase my memory space by removing sceneries to places that I do not travel in P3D. I have been able to remove quite few of them using Scenery Config Editor But there are some sceneries that I can not disable via Scenery Config Editor, unless I manually change their setting in scenery.cfg Can these sceneries be disabled 1) Edwards_AFB 2) Berlin 3) Longleat 4) Istanbul 5) Reno I am leaving all my Orbx, Props, and Global (I know these are required) and default base/scenery/terrain, Oceania, Western/Eastern North America & Europe, Australia intact Thoughts and feedback? Thanks How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)
March 21, 201313 yr Why? If you not going to fly to or in those areas it wont be loaded to memory any way. Its my understanding the only scenery loaded to memory is the vicinity scenery when selecting fly now. Dont know how true that is but FSX cant load the whole world? That would be 100's of GB when it can only access 4g?
March 21, 201313 yr If you are talking storage space taken up by P3D, then go ahead and remove from the Scenery Library and delete the files. I wouldn't be surprised if you said they reappeared, but that's another thing. As mentioned above, if you are not within those areas when flying, there won't be any memory usage of the files within P3D, AFAIK.
March 22, 201313 yr Author I have enabled all the sceneries for my P3D...you guys are right. On the other hand, when I used FSX, and disabling sceneries in it did give me extra room in my VAS. I am all P3D now. Thank you for helping me out. How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)
