Reinstall Default Aircraft

Featured Replies

Hi,I somehow lost my FS9 default Piper Cub (probably a senior moment).Could someone out there list the procedure for reinstalling this aircraft off of the installation disc. Also, I know that I would have to get into a CAB file. I would need to know the procedure for extracting the needed file.I tried to do a search, but came up empty. Thanks, in advance.Joe

If you can send me a private message with your Email address I'll send it to you zipped (6+ mb).Dave

Firstly, you'll need Winzip if you don't already have it - available from www.winzip.com - 21 day free trial then $29.After installation of Winzip, insert each Flight Simulator CD in turn, first one will try to Autorun - cancel that - then from My Computer, right click on the CD and the Open. Not sure which CD or file the Piper is in but think it's the first CD, or second, pretty sure not 3rd or 4th.You will see a number of WinZipped files on each CD - as you now have Winzip, double click to open. You will see the list of files contained in the zip file with the directories to which they belong. The ones for the Piper should be fairly obvious: will be going into Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS9AircraftPA180 or is it PA280?Highlight all the files for that directory, click Extract, make sure that:a)Winzip is pointing at the c: root directory AND b)that you select the "use directories" boxand Winzip should put all the selected files in the right place.
