Scenery.cfg Mix Up

Recommended Posts

I have the "Scenery Config Editor" tool installed and must have pressed the wrong button or ticked the wrong box as now the list view is very strange.
It now reads Priority #1 to #608 with the title all starting with #1 "Friendly title prefix: UK2000 Heathrow Xtreme, to #608 "Friendly title prefix: 1-SWED2011_Library". The Enabled box is NOT ticked on all these 608 scenery areas.
The enabled scenery areas start at #609 to #762. The scenery.cfg also has 762 areas.
Fortunately FSX seems to be unaffected by the above, I would just like to get it as it should be. Dilating the scenery.cfg may be an option but I would appreciate any advice before I screw things up further.

You should never delete the scenery.cfg.  The working one is located in your C:\Program Data\Microsoft\FSX.  The non-working config is located in the same folder as your FSX.cfg but it should also not be deleted.

On the Scenery Config Editor, make sure the List tab is selected, not the Group View.  By clicking on the Priority in the Priority column you can change the priorities.  If you click on Enabled the checkmarks will be removed.  Hit it again and the checkmarks reappear.  The most important thing is that the default scenery must be a lower priority that all of the addon scenery.  So, all of your addon scenery should be located above Propeller Objects.

Best regards,

Jim

Thanks Jim, I've been away from my computer for a while and I would still appreciate some help with this. Re your advice, I have not, and will not delete the scenery.cfg, just want to get it back as it should be.Those 608 un-ticked "Friendly title prefix titles, should I just remove them one by one in the Scenery Config Editor or maybe go to the active scenery, cfg and remove them? My thought is, as the boxes are not ticked they wont be active anyway.

Cheers,

Ray

You are exactly correct.  Unticked means the scenery is disabled.

Jim
