March 27, 201313 yr Hi, so far I was under the impression that Active Sky Evolution is the only eligible previous-version for the Active Sky 2012 Upgrade. And under requirements it still states that a "valid Active Sky Evolution registration key" is required for the upgrade. On the other hand one can read the following on the product page: ELIGIBLE UPGRADE PRODUCT VERSIONS: Active Sky Evolution, Active Sky Advanced, Active Sky X, Active Sky v6, Active Sky v6.5So I'm wondering, is it true that even Active Sky 6.5 is eligible for the Active Sky 2012 Upgrade? And if so, how does it work? Active Sky 6.5 never came with a license key. But according to the instructions the license key is required to validate the upgrade. April 4, 201313 yr Tim, have you been able to upgrade AS2012? I have 6.5 and am having problems completing my upgrade since my version 6.5 did not come with a license key. HiFi is helping me but it's taking long. Regards, Xander Xander Koote All round aviation geek 1st Officer Boeing 777
April 7, 201313 yr Author Hi Xander, I haven't bought the update yet as I haven't received a satisfying answer. The Active Sky Support told me that a license key is required and Simmarket told me that no license key is required. That's a little bit to confusing for my taste... April 27, 201313 yr Author Hi Dave, thanks for replying!Yes, I did. You told me that AS6.5 should have come with an installation key and I should contact Simmarket. Simmarket told me that I need to have AS6.5 installed and then the AS2012 Installer will gather all required informations. But after reading Xander's posting it was clear that this is not fully correct. And even the Simmarket product page says that "You must have a valid eligible previous-version Active Sky license key to validate your upgrade software on first run.".I have to admit that I'm quite happy with OpusFSX. But the AS2012 upgrade is relatively cheap and I would have been interested to take a look at AS2012 as it seems to be an excellent weather tool. Still, I'm not interested to run into the same issues like Xander did. However, if there will be a customer friendly solution for this problem I would still be happy to buy AS2012.GreetingsTim Greetings Tim My files on Flightsim.to i5 12600K | 32Gb | RTX 4080
