I'm just about to open my wallet (notify the media) and buy XPlane 10 64 bit. XPlane's site seems totally bereft of anything resembling 64 bit, that I can find. They have made little reference to 64 bit and I thought this would have been a major feature of the product on the sales page, Nienté. Can anyone tell me for sure, if the currently shipping software contains the 64 bit code.

Probably not, but after installing and updating to the latest version 10.20, it will include the 32-bit and 64-bit executables.

 

If you do buy X-Plane make sure you download and use the latest installer to install XP, update using the same installer afterwards.

Once installed and updated it will default to 64-bit when you launch XP

I just got the x-plane 10 global discs in the post and although having trouble installing it (messages say things various DLLs and plugins are missing and must re-install) I notice that in the folder there is an x-plane.exe and an x-plane32-bit.exe so I assume the former is 64bit

yes, the .exe file is the 64bit
