BBS Airbus, is it worth getting?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Saw a forum post in these threads talking about the BBS airbus, but I wanted a few more opinions before I purchase it.

The BBS airbus is still in 'beta', however it is extremely stable and very complete even now. The developers are very, very active in their FB posts and support and are very easy to talk to. Their managed climb/descent and general autopilot behavior is the best in an airbus right now. There are some stuff missing, like IRS, but nothing too huge that it will ruin your flight. The best thing is that this is updated frequently and has the potential to be very great. The exterior model is okay but doesn't hold a dime to the Airbus X, however some systems like hydraulics and electrics are modeled more realistically than AXE's. So, in conclusion, if you like systems I'd go with the BBS, if you like eyecandy I'd go with AXE.

Also, if you like 2D panels, then the obvious answer would be BBS, and they are coming out with an A330 very soon and it will be by far the best A330 on the market for a long time to come :)

Thank you much for your reply. I have the AXE, though good, the vnav not being complete really bugs me (I know its being worked on) and i am also a systems guy. With the purchase, are you entitled to the betas all the way up to the final product?

Yes, however this product is called the 'prologue'. The main, complete product to be released will be called 'Xtreme'. Buying the prologue now will grant you all updates UP TO the Xtreme version, then you can get the Xtreme version for the reduced price.
