This is getting frustrating as I installed FSX 5 months ago and I spend more time tweaking this than flying and it still looks terrible and doesn’t run properly.

The uiautomationcore.dll is probably one of the worst CTD'S (next to the "unknown" module). I would suggest running FSX in compatibility mode on Win7 (specifically XP SP3). That solved most of my crashes. However, if the problem persists, simply google "uiautomationcore.dll fix".

Cheers

The uiautomationcore.dll was the faulting module. It doesn't necessarily mean it was the cause of the crash. It might have been the module called when something went amiss while running FSX. The uiautomationcore.dll is part of the Microsoft.net framework packages. For FSX you need dotnet versions 1.1 thru 4.5. They are not backward compatible. You should check out this link - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx to verify you have all the versions and they are properly installed.  A lot of times Microsoft Update will placed updates to this program as an Option to be installed.  So you have to go to the Options page and select them for installation.  The uiautomationcore.dll is used by developers, in conjunction with dotnet, to make sure your application runs properly including memory management.  It appears your settings are set too high.

Your system specs indicate you have a minimal setup at 2.4GHz and only 4 GB's of ram.  FSX can use up to 4GB's for FSX but, in your case, it can only use about 3GB's as it needs RAM to run other computer functions, like the various Services.  So you need to make sure your system is not using too many resources when running FSX and high settings will cause FSX to use more resources.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Jim
