Joystick Problems

Featured Replies

Okay, I don't know if what I'm doing here is wrong, but I don't want to hijack someone else's thread for a similar issue.

First, I'll start with some specs.

The joystick I have connected is an Xtreme 3D Pro, by Logitech.

I am running Windows 8

I have a dual monitor setup.

I have the following mods installed to FSX:

  • FSRecorder
  • GSX
  • FSPassengers

Now to the problem.

My issue was bought up in this thread

Maybe a solution,

But a case is not the different one.

I have this problem since I use two monitors. The problem occurs when FSX loses the focus and passes in mode pause.

I've installed the last beta nvidia drivers (310.33-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-beta.exe).
During the installation, Windows 8 asks whether it is necessary to accept the installation of nvidia USB drivers.
I accepted and since, I did not have a disconnection of the joystick any more.

Friendly

The poster too has a dual monitor setup and whenever they click onto another window, the Joystick just randomly disconnects from FS. It still won't show up even after unplugging and re-plugging. The only way to "fix" is to restart FS. This whole time, the joystick is still listed in Device Manager.

What I have tried:

  • Updating my video card drivers as suggested - no go
  • I came across another thread suggesting to install a dll file - no go
  • Restarting my computer - no go
  • Shifting what port my joystick is connected to - no go
  • Disabling that power option to stop USB devices from "going to sleep" -  no go

Someone had said that it could have been something in the Windows update because some Windows 7 users were lately experiencing this too. When I was running Windows 7, I never really installed updates. The problem only occurred since my upgrade to Windows 8 Professional.

I love Windows 8, but FS is what's making my experience hell.

I was baffled three days ago when I lost my controls too.  So, the following day I started looking and experimenting.

See the following thread what I had done.  http://forum.avsim.net/topic/393486-windows-8-joystick-megathread-problem/?p=2637737

I don't know what to say......except for what I have done, everything is now working on this new WIN 8 computer.
