It should run FS9 very well.  For your information, AVSIM has a Software and Hardware Guide which provides some good information regarding hardware (for FSX or FS9).  It is pinned at the top of the FSX Forum (and some other forums).  There's also a Hardware forum here at AVSIM where some of the hardware experts reside.
