Frozen lakes in Summer season!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

In live in Gatineau, Quebec and in March and April, lakes are still frozen. I had FSX configured to load the current time and date but when setting the season to Summer, FSX continued to display frozen lakes. So I saved a new default flight with Summer selected as the season but FSX continues to display frozen lakes.

Any information that would help me resolve this issue would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Is this with default scenery? I ask because default FSX does not display frozen lakes, even during the winter. You may have forgotten that you have installed something in your FSX to give you those frozen lakes and now you need to disable it.

Hi  if  you have   Ultimate terrain x Canada ,  in the setup tool  , ultimate terrain , change the assigned water textures ...

Ha Ha! Fixed! A few of the water bodies in Ultimate Terrain X Canada were set to 'Ice'.

Thank you Charles for nailing it!

Jim, yes this is default scenery. And your thought about something installed in the past which I'd forgotten about crossed my mind and was hoping that if so, then someone might be able to identify it. I keep pretty good records of what's added to FSX and couldn't identify anything. But I do slip sometimes!

My sincere thanks to both of you for responding so quickly and helping me resolve the issue.

All the best,

JJ
