April 9, 201313 yr My temp at FL340 is showing 11C, but when I go into Opus Reports it shows it should be -55. I've tried restarting Opus and no luck. I haven't upgraded for a week or so and it's been running fine until now.
April 9, 201313 yr Commercial Member I need more information please (but there really is nothing the LWE can do since it cannot control these ambient conditions, only set targets for the sim to meet). What is the target ambient temp, the current ambient temp and the TAT reported in the Opus Weather Report window. Are you looking at the calculated TAT or the current SAT within FSX. Do you have any other weather source enabled, another engine, FSInn, FSX real weather etc.. What other Addons are you using. But the LWE can only set targets for FSX to follow. It is also most important that you enable the LWE when on the ground and not mid way through the flight, or after running or enabling a different weather source. Such practices will never work and FSX will never cope trying to calculate and adjust its ambientq conditions. See our Reporting Weather Anomalies post, but a high SAT or TAT is really nothing to do with the LWE, it is FSX that controls those parameters, they are not controlled by the LWE. You can email your OpusWeather.txt and OpusWeatherReport.txt files. But do keep an eye on your Local and other weather report windows. Stephen
April 9, 201313 yr Commercial Member Please remember the LWE does NOT control the ambient temperature (SAT) nor the calculated TAT which takes account of the compressional heating of the air. You must never run the Opus LWE after using other weather sources, FSX will most likely not cope with the new targets and hence will not attempt to achieve them. If you run the Opus LWE without any other weather sources, and without over burdening your FSX with other Addons that may make constant demands for data and hence possibly preventing FSX from being able to make time to calculate and adjust its ambient conditions, then everything should be OK. Make sure you check the Opus weather reports and monitor the targeted temp and winds against the actual FSX attempts to meet those targets. Stephen
August 2, 201312 yr Commercial Member Make sure you put in an assumed temp where possible for your aircraft sim (e.g. in the NGX "Perf" page), which you can get from your GRIB report (OpusWeatherReport.txt or Upper Atmosphere weather report window), for cruising altitude, ensure you don't omit the minus sign if appropriate.
