April 14, 201313 yr Sorry if im in the wrong place to ask but i'm pulling my hair out on this one. Is there a basic guide to repainting the NGX, i can repaint it, its just the saving and making it show up in FSX. I am close as i am using DTXbmp and photoshop and saving it as DDS DTX5 but the fusalage does not show, only the inside cabin? any links or help would be appriciated....i have looked on youtube and the net but nothing to me seems easy to understand..then again i am thick! ^_^ thanks guys
April 14, 201313 yr Are you following these steps? Do you have the DDS plugin for Photoshop? If not, Google and download it. Next, open the .dds file with DXTBMP. Let it open. Go to image, select flip image and alpha. Save as: it should already be correct. DXT5. Then put it in the texture folder and create the aircraft.cfg file. ENSURE YOU HAVE THE "TEXTURE.CFG" INCLUDED IN THE TEXTURE FOLDER. IT IS IN THE PAINTKIT FOLDER LABELLED AS 800 TEXTURE.CFG OR 800WL ETC. That should fix the problem up nicely. Report back if there are issues. i7 6700k, GTX 1070 (MSI), 16GB Ram DDR4 Asus Maximus VIII Hero, Corsair H100i v2 - Alex Farmer Goldstar Textures - www.facebook.com/goldstartextures
April 14, 201313 yr Author done it, cool! B) In fs2004 i always saved in DTX3 with alpha to get the nice crisp fusealage textures, niw it seems fuzzu like its in 32bit...whats the proceedure to get sort that? I don't really want to do anything and cock it up.
April 15, 201313 yr Glad that sorted it out for you! usually in Fs9 textures saved in 32 Bit Extended Bitmap are a lot better quality. i7 6700k, GTX 1070 (MSI), 16GB Ram DDR4 Asus Maximus VIII Hero, Corsair H100i v2 - Alex Farmer Goldstar Textures - www.facebook.com/goldstartextures
