April 22, 201313 yr Commercial Member Note you will find the Permissions under the Security properties tab, not the Sharing tab. You may also have to create an Everyone user group to allocate Full Control. Stephen
April 22, 201313 yr Author EDIT: it still doesnt seem to have worked, even though in the logs it does now say GRIB data is being downloaded
April 22, 201313 yr EDIT: it still doesnt seem to have worked, even though in the logs it does now say GRIB data is being downloaded Does it show just being downloaded? Or does it show being downloaded and then processed/extracted? I still think it has to do with permissions and read write issues.

And the FL200 winds at egkk were like 000 degrees at 4knots?
April 23, 201313 yr Commercial Member I assume you have the latest version. Open the c:\OpusFSX\Themes\OpusWeatherReport.txt file or send it to me. You will find all the wind and temp targets in there. Are you opening the weather report window, if so what do you see for the Lower and Upper Atmospheric reports. Email me your report.txt file for me to have a look at. If the GRIB data is decoded and extracted OK then that report file should exist and will tell me and you what all the targets are. Stephen I assume you have set both sharing and security permissions for the folders, the two are separate. After the GRIB file is downloaded, extracted and decoded check your OpusFSX\GRIB folder to check to see what files are present. You should see all the csv and dat files from the data extraction and decode. Check all the files exist since if any files do not exist then there will be no GRIB data to use. Stephen

Stephen Hi, ive just sent the report.txt to you. I've just enabled sharing on my Flight simulator folder, but I could not enable permissions while following the instructions properly. Attached is my security tab
April 23, 201313 yr Commercial Member You MUST create an Everyone user group as described in the above instructions and the guide. This is likely to be your problem, the software does not have security permissions to save the files ! You clearly do not have an Everyone user group listed so you must create one. Stephen
April 23, 201313 yr Commercial Member Not at my computer at the moment but it is something like,Open the Security tab.Click Advanced.Click Change Permissions. Click Add.Type in the name Everyone and click OK.Then specify Full Control for your newly created Everyone group.Click OK.Stephen Edit: added Click Change Permissions button before Add.

April 23, 201313 yr Commercial Member Di you check and set the permission for the GRIB folder? Can you list your csv and DAT files in your GRIB folder, I cannot tell what is going on without knowing what files on your system are being blocked ! You may still not be getting the DAT files created. Also once again, please check your OpusWeatherReport.txt file, not the OpusWeather.txt, that just contains the METARs. But check those files, I need to know what part of the process is being blocked. Stephen Please also check very carefully you have set BOTH sharing and security for Everyone as instructed on all relevant folders. Especially your OpusFSX\GRIB folder. Stephen

I cannot find the OpusWeatherReport.txt in the OpusFSX folder at all?
April 23, 201313 yr Commercial Member I can't really tell what the file types are since you do not have extensions enabled. Sharing AND Security ... Can you please just confirm Everyone has Full Control on your GRIB folder. I guess there is no OpusWeatherReport due to the fact that you do not have any DAT files because your FSDECODER program is blocked or not compatible. Can you please confirm for sure that your GRIB data is being reported as Extracted and Decoded OK in the Spy, and not something like Unable To... Is being reported. Please check BOTH sharing and security on the folder, both have to be set. Also your FSDECODER program must match the current install. I assume you have tried to uninstall, download version 3 afresh and reinstall, making sure all your EXEs have been removed during the uninstall, if they are not then that could indicate a blocked file which will then not match the new installation. Stephen I've just noticed you have installed OpusFSX in ... C:\Flight Simulator\Addons and Programs\OpusFSX You cannot do this .... It must be installed in its own folder as instructed in the Getting Started Guide. The software simply cannot create the DAT files in this protected program's folder. Please uninstall, then move your folder to c:\OpusFSX, then reinstall in this folder. Stephen
