April 21, 201313 yr Anybody knows if it is possible to change an aircraft beacon from rotating to flashing modifying the respective .fx file ? I checked FS9 SDK, but found nothing relevant. Sotiris. Sotiris Stavrakis
April 21, 201313 yr I believe that none of the beacons actually rotate, unless of course it is modeled into a aircraft or scenery. The fx files for beacons do only flash to simulate rotating. A rotating beacon on a aircraft or a ground object would require a modeled object that is animated so that as it rotates the view of light emitting part of the object is briefly blocked just as in real life. That may be done on some high quality add ons but is not common practice. Finally, if the rotating beacon is part of a model then there is very little that can be done about it. Regards, Mel
April 22, 201313 yr Author Thanks Mel. [Finally, if the rotating beacon is part of a model then there is very little that can be done about it.] If this is case, I 'd rather give up. I thought it would be enough an .fx file edit. Best regards, Sotiris. Sotiris Stavrakis
