Decided to buy

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I played the demo and decided to buy the game.

Just a couple of questions..

Is there anywhere I can buy the game and download online? I have a very fast fibre optic connection and would love to be playing tonight rather than waiting a few days for postage. Looks like this isn't possible though.

Secondly, I've only played in the Seattle area. If I buy Global edition, does every city essentially look identical or will there be a few land marks etc. Not too bothered about accurate placement as I tend to fly heavy metal.

Finally, the default aircraft had slightly shoddy textures (which I would expect!) - Do the payware addons have much higher def? What is the most advanced jet aircraft (doesn't have to be an airliner) currently available for XP10? The closer to PMDG level the better. I prefer to fly one aircraft extensively learning every system so depth and quality is a must - price isn't too important as I'm more than happy to pay for a decent addon (within reason, of course!)

Thanks :)

No Download version, The Global Edition comes on 8 DVD's and also includes some City/Airports Scenery made by Aerosoft.  Buy a Payware plane immediately after you install XP10 (2hrs approx. On my PC)  Also try some amazing freeware/Payware stuff from the. Org site or Simmarket.

Identical to PMDG: 777 Worldliner, 737 Ixeg Coming Soon

Also: JarDesign A320neo, CRJ 200 Jrollon, FJS 727, etc.

GOOGLE more! and no offense but most of your questions in this thread were answered in your thread from yesterday:  "Does X-Plane 10 have what I want?"

Thank you haha, I completely forgot about that thread! Loads of addons listed. TY again

this plane is still in alpha/beta status and will release this year I hope.

All the xp10 news/reviews you need plus AVSIM of course  :  http://asn-xp.aerosoft.com/

Thanks FiveBy-Five - One quick question, if I buy an addon aircraft will it work on the demo whilst I wait for the disks to arrive? Also, I only have about 60gb free on my SSD - can I opt not to install some of the sceneries?

Thank you :)

Yes and yes to both questions!

I can't choose between the 727 and the CRM, both reviews are excellent! argh!!! :)

By the way, this is the version I bought : http://www.game.co.uk/en/x-plane-10-158064?pageSize=20&searchTerm=x plane 10

Am I right in thinking that is the global version?

Thanks :)

I thought so - but then it goes on to say detailed scenery for Europe!

Thanks for clearing that up for me :)

yes the global edition does come with extra goodies from Aerosoft:  over 10 European Airports(EGLL, LFPG, etc. etc.) and a few cities I think, not near my pc right now to tell you.

One more thing that you will enjoy and be amazed at, is that xp10 is all in 1 folder on your computer.  No messy addon installations requiring windows registry.  I have (4) xp10 installs/folders on my pc.  You can even run xp10 from a usb thumb drive

don't forget to download later on the free sceneries that look better than payware:

Awesome thanks Five-by-Five - I bought the 727 as I've never flown an old jet before.

The demo has a really nice feel to flight, it feels a lot more like DCS than FSX which is a big plus for me.

Can't wait for the disks to arrive to to play for more than 20 mins!

Thank you for all your help the last few days :)

Here's a nice add-on manager that will help you manage all of your add-on's.

Also make sure you download OpenSceneryX as many scenery packages rely on this object library.

Very easy to use and to install, just follow the intructions.
