September 30, 200421 yr Hi everyone, first post on this forum but I have been reading it for years and found it very useful. I'm editing a small amount of FS9 footage to a home movie and need to know how to remove the red information box that appears on the lower left corner of the FS9 screen, you know the one that tells you your parking brakes are on!The effects of the Virgin 747 leaving KMCO are incredible in the late evening Florida sun almost life like if it wasn't for that red box!!!Many ThanksMikeH
September 30, 200421 yr In your FS9.cfg file, make the following entry under the SIM heading:SHOW_BRAKE_MESSAGE=0That'll do it.KevinEDIT: You've already been around for years, but I'll say it anyway... Welcome to the forums. :-)
September 30, 200421 yr Is there one that get's rid of the stall and overspeed boxes? I feel the aural warning is sufficient enough considering all the real planes I've flown in haven't flashed any messages for that. :-lol----------------------------------------------------------------John S. October 1, 200421 yr Unfortunately, I haven't flown anything that fancy yet. We just have a little metal tab on the wing at a certain angle that get's flipped up if the relative wind gets under it and it makes a loud buzzing sound. Though the ineffectiveness of control inputs and the sudden sinking feeling are ussually go indicators on their own. Hehe.----------------------------------------------------------------John S. October 1, 200421 yr KevinThanks for your response, I've removed the 'Brake' message but have you any idea what the instruction would be to remove the 'Replay:(seconds)-ESC to Stop' message you get when in Instant Replay mode.I use this mode to replay a clip several times and record different views which then gets edited into a Spielburg spectacular! (I wish). Thanks againMikeH
October 1, 200421 yr Mike,If you'd like to remove all red text (including Slew, Pause, Brakes, Parking Brakes, Replay, Coordinates line, and FPS line), you can enter under the MAIN heading of your FS9.cfg file:HIDEINFOTEXT=1There is another option, but I'll need a few minutes to find the thread.Kevin
October 1, 200421 yr Ok, found it. Check out post #8 and following as to how to remove or change the red text and the scrolling green bar text.http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/cgi/dcforu...rum=DCForumID21Good stuff.Kevin
October 2, 200421 yr KevinDownloaded ResHacker, what a useful little program however when I used it for my purposes it resulted in crashing FS9. I reverted back to plan 'A' and modified FS9.cfg with your previous instruction. This had the desired effect :-), Hollywood here I come!!Thanks againMikeH
