Greetings all,

 

My hard drive just crashed, so I'm going to have to reinstall everything. Luckily, the current drive still works in safe mode, so it appears that I can save everything. I'm currently moving everything to an external drive, and will move that to the new drive once I get it.

 

What is the correct procedure for reinstalling MSFS and the PMDG Addons? I still have the original FSX disc, so I'll obviously start from there. I know there are service packs, etc, but I can't remember the correct order to install them.

 

Also, my current drive has a lot of info in the "app data" folders. Which of this info, if any, do I need to save? Or is this info re-generated when I install the program(s).

I always use this guide to uninstall: http://support.precisionmanuals.com/KB/a87/how-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-fsx.aspx, and I use NickN's guide to to re-install  As  for the service packs, I think the order is sp1<sp1c for the base pack<install 6700 expansion<install 6700 sp1c if it doesn't have it.
