Hi I was flying in PMDG 737ngx, 150 miles from destination. I checked the OPUSFSX spy, and saw a continuous stream of the same message over and over to the effect of "Exception 3 from SIM" or similar. When I then tried to check local weather, FSX crashed to desktop. What might cause this to occur, and is there a fix.

Sounds like a SimConnect error. The software does try to reconnect but most times FSX has completely failed and no recovery is possible. There is no fix as such but FSX does not fail its SimConnect very often.
