  1. Not going to loose time for words... :-)
  2. First of all I want to say that almost a year I am using OpusFSX and for me this is by far the best addon in its category. But only, I would say, irregularity occurs when there is reduced visibility reported on destination airport. Is that so often mentioned FSX limitation, my OPUS settings or something else. To be clearer, I attach screenshots and OPUS Weather file. I paused FSX, done screenshot and copied OPUS Weather file when screenshot is taken. My OPUS version is 3.34.0. Take a note of distance from Destination Airport (in this case CYYC) and reported visibility. Same was on 20 miles from destination. After couple of miles everything was as reported (Same weather file) My Opus Settings And OpusWeather file as attachment. Thanks in advance!
  3. I don't know if it is P3DV2 related but i don't had it in FSX and as far as i can remeber don't had it in P3D 1.4. Creating a new Camera View is only possible for Virtual Cockpit. When i Switch to "Aircraft" the P3D Camera don't Switch to external and stays in VC. That happens with all planes and even activate/deactivate camera funktion (to rewrite the camera in aircraft.cfg) in OpusFSX don't help. Does anyone have the same Problem ? Greez
  4. Recently purchased OPUSFSX and installed the new FSX update to REX OD (released in November). On long haul flights, the FMC is disengaging with wind shifts. This has happened with both OPUSFSX and REX. Anyways to prevent this from occurring. I like both Wx engines, but need to leave the MD11 to fly itself in real time on transpolar routes (Dubai to Anchorage, for instance).
  5. OpusFSX Version 2.60 Available Now True Upper Winds and Temperatures Long Range ATIS Reports Opus Software are pleased to announce Version 2.60 of OpusFSX is available for download. The latest release includes enhancements to the Live Weather engine incorporating the World Wide GRIB Upper Winds and Temperature Forecast data, both current and historic. Weather Reports provide details of the Upper Atmosphere winds and temperatures together with long range ATIS reports for your destination airfield and up to four alternates, accurate to up to 300 miles away. In addition these weather reports can be used for non-ATIS airfields. A demonstration version of the software is available together with a 30 day money back guarantee on your purchase if you are not completely satisfied. website: http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi.htm
  6. Now doing the network install. Question is what scenery should be installed on the client? I installed the UTX and GEX series, and will proceed with REX, what about UT2 traffic? Thank you!
  7. my discovery of FSX still continues to amaze me. This week I bought the Flight One Cessna 510 (Mustang) and OpusFSX. Previous to now i'd only flown piston GA in FSX, but this Cessna 510 has changed everything. ...........and OpusFSX .... WOW! click on the pics as they're not full size until you do ........ thanks Craigy i need more hours in the day to devote to this journey in to discovering FSX !
  8. Hello folks. I'm very satisfied with my purchase of the OpusFSX software, it is by far the best WX generator I've touched. However, I do most of my flights in Norway, my home country, were stratus clouds dominates the skies. Cumulus and cumulunimbus are far less common. I know other WX generators have/had options to shift the ratio towards the one or the other, but can this be easily done with Opus? I'm not entirely sure what dictates the type of cloud that will appear, neither am I fully aware how Opus will cooperate with other WX-add-ons with this capability. All I want is some good 'ol flat stratus cloud bases, instead of the cotton balls I'll be very thankfull for all and any help!
  9. Hello guys! I wouldn't even want to count how many times I have flown this route since the early 2000's  Started to take some shots when I was descending towards Stockholm-Arlanda, so unfortunately I only got these three shots of my arrival :fool: Had an amazing depature from Gothenburg-Landvetter though (ESGG 070830Z 18009KT 2300 -DZ BR OVC002 01/01 Q1020), OpusFSX did this weather justice indeed, the ground quickly disappeared as I climbed through 200AGL. Had overcast weather all the way until I was on final approach when the ground appeared once again, OpusFSX really gives that visually immersion that is unbeaten for the moment in FSX. Blah blah blah On to the shots! Feel free to comment as you like :friends:
  10. Hi, I have both Active Sky 2012 and OpusFSX installed on my system, I've tried the trial version of FS Global Real Weather aswell. But none of these satisfy me in the simulation of wind and turbulence. I have tested many airports (which I picked from badbadweather.com focusing on the "High wind" and "High gust" reports) and the result in FSX is kind of disappointing to me. The depicted weather seems static to me. I have tried to setup Active Sky 2012 in the most "alive" way I can in the Wx options. Neither OpusFSX or FS Global Real Weather have as detailed setup as Active Sky 2012 what I know of. I have fiddeled with FSUIPC and Accu-Feel both on/off and together to get a more dynamic feeling while flying with no good result. The best combo I found so far is using Active Sky 2012 (set up with 0-100% sliders on the wind options) and with Accu-Feel set to 100% "Turbulence Chop/Gusts/CAT", however I can't seem to get these small changes in both wind directions and strength during turbulent weather to get that feeling of being "in the middle of it". I know, sudden wind shifts/S-turns is no fun when they shouldn't appear and most are probably try to get rid of it, but in these conditions as I mentioned above I feel that something is missing. Any suggestions or thoughts about this?
  11. I picked up OpusFSI yesterday after having using OpusFSX for years. I had been using static weather that had been caught in saved flights but it was time for something new. and Ill say plainly - GOOD JOB! I honestly don't see much difference in the two products (for what I know how to use) but I have always preferred Opus because you guys just know how to lay clouds out so they look realistic. Don't ever change. You're the best. I intend to attempt to learn how to make use of the other features (like camera positioning and control) but its good to have the dynamic head movement back. I'd been so long without it that I forgot what a nice touch it was. anyway...I'm pleased.

  13. Here's the lovely Quality Wings RJ on an IFR flight from CORK to LONDON CITY. Clouds by REX E Sky by Pablo Diaz. Retooled for FSX by Danny Glover (HDEv2) Weather by OpusFSX Ground textures by VFR Generation X / Orbx England London City by UK2000 FSX DX10 with shader mods.
  14. I was at a friend of mine who bought OpusFSX for live weather and trying to get me on board as well, the first thing I noticed was the VC zoom using the space bar and mouse was not smooth anymore. Well after some fiddling with options and using grep (for searching inside cfg files) I was able to figure out that every time OpusFSX is launched it updates the cameras.cfg file located next to the fsx.cfg and overwrites the Virtual Cockpit camera definition changing the SmoothZoomTime parameter from 2.0 to 0.0 which leads to no zoom smoothing in the VC. Can the developer comment on why this is done and if there is a way to prevent this change from happening if I am only planning on using OpusFSX for weather?
  15. Hi I was flying in PMDG 737ngx, 150 miles from destination. I checked the OPUSFSX spy, and saw a continuous stream of the same message over and over to the effect of "Exception 3 from SIM" or similar. When I then tried to check local weather, FSX crashed to desktop. What might cause this to occur, and is there a fix. Bob
