I know I'm going to have to switch to X-Plane sooner or later.  I would prefer to do it sooner, but I've become too used to having a moving map and an FMS type interface, even for aircraft that do not have a FMS.  So, the question is are there utilities available for these functions in the X-Plane world running Apple's OS X operating system?  Also, is it possible to run these utilities on a separate computer from the one running X-Plane?

The best is using an iPad and ForeFlight app. But you have to get an account to use it after the initial 30 days trial. Other options also exist on iPad.
