ASE won't load, getting a Appcrash - Kernelbase.dll error

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm a long time ASE user.   Never ever any technical issues, until today.   I load up ASE and get the following message upon startup:

Description:
  Stopped working

Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:    APPCRASH
  Application Name:    ASE_Exec.exe
  Application Version:    12.0.0.707
  Application Timestamp:    51102d29
  Fault Module Name:    KERNELBASE.dll
  Fault Module Version:    6.1.7601.18015
  Fault Module Timestamp:    50b83c8a
  Exception Code:    e053534f
  Exception Offset:    0000c41f
  OS Version:    6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
  Locale ID:    1033

I found a similar startup crash topic here that mentions that .NET may be corrupted.   It turns out I think I had an unrelated windows issue that was dependent on .NET, but I thought I had resolved it.

Anyhow, I uninstalled/reinstalled .NET framework for windows 7 64 bit but I still have the same error.   I fear that even reinstalling ASE would not help, but I may try it now in the meantime.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

I've just seen your post and I'm having exactly the same problem. I've posted something in Hifi forum and just waiting a reply.

But was curious to know if you have managed to rectify the problem?

Thanks

Jason

I was told to uninstall and reinstall ASE.   The most important step is to go to your Users\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\ASE folder and delete that Hifi folder after you uninstall.   When I first uninstalled, I didn't delete the folder and I still had the same issue.

I installed a fresh copy of ASE after that and the problem went away.

Hi,

I have got it working again after uninstalling and then re-installing. I didn't have to change anything it worked straight away with both FS9 & FSX with networking.

Am greatful to you for your help :)

Regards

Jason
