October 8, 200421 yr Just another setting on the FS9.cfg file that made a big difference on my system.Find this setting in your FS9.cfg file and set it as shown...--- TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=20 --- FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
October 8, 200421 yr Hi Dillon,The default setting for this line in the FS9.cfg is 40. Many folks increase it (some markedly) to make the views load quicker. Going too high with it (>400) will increase stuttering. The TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULTI setting is really a system (and user) dependant setting. Each user should arrive at a value that works best for them and their computer.Cheers,Greg
October 8, 200421 yr It depends not only on what system you have, but what type of plane you are flying. On my roomates system that I have built and tweaked, 30 works great for props, while 40-60 works best for high quality jets like pmdgs 737. 20-30 works best for default aircraft. this is a 3.2 p4 1gb ram, fx5950 ultra, 66.31 guru3d beta drivers and 100% traffic 8x AA 8x AF and it still is slow in most areas, only flying at altitude does it really fly smooth, no matter what settings I try. Anything over 60 setting on a clear vis day gets me nothing but stutters, hopefully (but probably not) fixed with the patch.
October 8, 200421 yr I haven't noticed or wasn't too concerned about framerates with aircraft. I was more concerned with performance with scenery in general. Using the setting I mentioned above, most all Simflyer's scenery performs much better than before. KIAD and KIAH are a little slow but other than that I don't have the framerate problems with add-on scenery the way I used to. Everything in general is better in FS2k4 with you lower the texture bandwidth. I couldn't see raising the number to +60... :-hmmm FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
