Ezdok/Accufeel turbulence effect?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just noticed from going back into the NGX for a few flights that there's absolutely no turbulence or head movement injected by either Ezdok or Accufeel when flying the Q400, something I'd not really noticed as I was so busy trying to fly the thing! Is this to do with the external FDE etc?

Is this to do with the external FDE etc?

Yes. I believe someone from the team mentioned they were aware of the issue and were looking into it.

Having the external FDE is almost like being in  "slew" mode. The way I understand it, the external FDE basically looks at where the plane is, what's going on with it, then computes where it should be next (in other words, how it should fly according to the current conditions of, well,  (almost)* everything.), then puts it there.

This is great because the stock FSX FDE leaves alot to be desired. Even more so for anything with a prop. The problem is that all weather is injected into FSX, but since the Q400 isn't using the stock FDE (hence the * above), then there is sort of a disconnect between the external FDE and internal environment.

I could be completely wrong. But this is what I've been lead to believe/understand from other things I've read. If someone from the team could provide a better/more accurate answer, please do. Now that I've gotten to the end of this, I kinda feel like I just "hail marry-ed" the answer.

Does the Weather Radar work correctly with Active Sky in Direct Weather Control (DWC) mode?
