Rabdazzo's Keynote Speech Inspiring

Featured Replies

Hello, Simmers,

Robert Randazzo, chief of PMDG, recently delivered a keynote speech at AVSIM'S FanCon. Apparently the origianl audio track was damaged or lost, but fortunately a fellow named Marty Arant saved the day by making his own recording of the speech. Unfortunately, it becomes apparent upon listening to the podcast that the recording was made from one of the dining tables rather than from a feed from Robert's microphone. I say this because, when you turn the volume up enough to hear Robert, the sounds of eating, plates and silverware clattering, etc. are very much in the forground.

Nevertheless, if you are a flight sim enthusiast (and I'm not sure why you'd be visiting this forum if you aren't), whether your a user of X-Plane, FSX, or some other sim platform, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this speech, despite the annoying auio distractions. Even though Robert Randazzo has been a B 747 captain for United Airlines, he's at heart a simmer like the rest of us. He was involved in simming from its earliest days, and his story is fascinating. Toward the end of his address, he has some interesting and positive things to say about where he thinks flight simming is going, and X-planers may be interesting to know that he has some very complimentary things to say about the Laminar team.

A link to the podcat can be found at the top of the AVSIM forum section or on the news page. I urge you all to download and listen.

Regards,

Tom

I'm happy they confirmed their partnership with Laminar Research and how powerful and more attractive their future releases will be on a 64bit FlightSim Platform :clapping:  :good:

Yes,It was nice to hear Robert speak very highly of Austin and Ben and talk about The Passion they have for X-Plane and our Hobby.
