[RESOLVED] Search Restriction

Featured Replies

I quite often do a forum search only to find that my search has been disallowed. Just now for instance, I wanted to search for the word 'border' in the Hardware Forum. I get this as a result:

"The following search terms are not allowed and were removed from your query: border

One or all of your search keywords were below 3 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords".

Closed AVSIM, started again and tried once more. Same result.

The word 'border' is not allowed?? Is there a list of these 'banned' words, so as we know? I find quite a number of words I search for come up with the same message - and they are all everyday words of more than three letters..

Thanks.

Okay, I was able to duplicate that and you are right. It does disallow "border". I need to look into that. Thanks for the heads up.

OK, great. "Quite often" was perhaps an exaggeration. "Sometimes" would have been better; but this is not an isolated example, anyway.

Thanks..
