Scenery conversion question

Featured Replies

The last thing I need for perfection in xplane is photoscenery for my area.

I notice that Gottfried over at Blue sky gives permission in his readme file to convert his excellent photo scenery via fsx2xplane to xplane! Great news!

Every time I try though I get the message "error during conversion. No data found".

Does anyone have a clue how to get it to work?

Thanks!

Try the FS9 sceneries, not the FSX sceneries. FS9 has the texture files exposed in the \Texture folder, FSX has the textures in the BGL file and no one that I know of has been able to decompile a BGL file made with the Resample compiler.

Now if you want to learn how to make your own, let me know... B)

Thanks Meshman! Should have asked you first! Bummer though as I assume they are not the newer hi quality stuff and it looks like the older quality California stuff may not still be available.

It would be great if there was a way of converting photoscenery such as the BlueSky stuff. I can't get G2XPL to work and can't find any decent photoscenery for North America. The only stuff that seems to be available is continental Europe. It's a shame, especially without having regional textures and landmarks available (hint, hint Laminar).
